Ronan has worked for the past 20 years in the area of International Development, 10 of which he spent in Africa. He is a qualified Mechanical Engineer, holds a Masters in Development Studies, and is a PRINCE2 certified project manager. Ronan designed the course on “Ethics of International Development” as part of the BA Programme on International Development in Maynooth University. Ronan has facilitated and trained groups extensively in a variety of settings in a number of countries including Brazil, Ireland, Nigeria, Peru and South Africa. He is a highly skilled project manager and enjoys facilitating people to better understand the practice and theory of the project cycle, project management and monitoring, evaluation and learning.
Patty is a Peruvian Human Rights lawyer and educator living in Ireland, holding an MA International Development. With a long and successful career in International Development, she has worked for several Charities in Ireland and internationally. Patty is a dynamic and intuitive tutor and facilitator. She uses creative and holistic approaches such as the Capacitar International Trauma Healing & Multicultural Wellness Tutor and Laban Dance and Body Movement Leader as tools for Social Transformation working with community groups, development workers in multicultural settings. Through her career, Patty has shown great capacity to work creatively with people in complex and culturally diverse environments, capacity to listen, encourage and support community groups and individuals. For the past 8 years, Patty has facilitated two modules for VC on Cultural Adaptation and Conflict and Challenges in Development work.
Lucy is an experienced Professional in Project Development/Management and Safeguarding work for over 15 years. She holds a Master’s degree in International Development from the University of Manchester UK, BA in Human Development from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), Nairobi. She has also completed the Online safeguarding courses by Kimmage KODE, Keeping Children Safe & Harvard University. Lucy has worked as Caritas Director for 3 years, Development Officer for 4 years and Safeguarding Manager for 3 years. She has wide experience in capacity building and training in Safeguarding and protection, economic empowerment, gender mainstreaming and leadership. She is a part time lecturer in Nairobi.
Sylvia has over 20 years’ experience in the educational sector and a leader in gender programs. Sylvia obtained a PhD from Technological University Dublin, and before joining TU Dublin, she worked at UCD as a Program coordinator. Sylvia was the Consulate General of Uganda to Ireland where she has worked with the Government of Ireland and Uganda. Sylvia is a researcher and she runs her own Training Consultancy. Sylvia has published many Journal articles, book chapters and presented at many conferences around Europe, U.S and Africa. Sylvia’s Academic interest are in the areas of Gender, Entrepreneurship Education, Leadership, Diversity, Globalisation & Localisation, Rural and Development.
